Horia Colibășanu este unul dintre sportivii români decorați cu Ordinul Național Steaua României

Președintele României, Klaus Iohannis, i-a înmânat lui  Horia Colibășanu decorația în grad de Cavaler, Ordinul Național Steaua României, cea mai înaltă distincție civilă pe care o poate acorda Președintele.

În cadrul ceremoniei, președintele Klaus Iohannis a reiterat motivația pentru acordarea acestei distincții și a evidențiat importanța performanței, perseverenței și a pasiunii în misiunea de a-i inspira pe cei de lângă noi pentru a fi mai buni.

La rândul său, Horia Colibășanu, a povestit ce surpriză a fost mesajul primit de la Președintele României imediat după ascensiunea pe Everest, pe când încă era în tabăra de bază. Semnificația distincției de onoare este atât o recunoaștere pentru rezultatele individuale, cât și o apreciere a importanței alpinismului românesc.
